Honda CR-Z is now officially one of the safest European cars, following the crash testing results provided by Euro NCAP which set a five star rating for the safety of the CR-Z. These results are based on the latest testing scheme introduced by Euro NCAP in February 2009. Honda CR-Z is the fifth Honda model to receive this top safety rating after the Honda Civic, Accord, Jazz and Insight, these Honda models also receiving 5 stars. The safety score is calculated taking into account the data obtained from frontal, side, rear and pole crash tests, rating the protection for the adult and child occupants as well as that of pedestrians and also the availability of driver assistance systems, which must be fitted as standard on 90 percent of the 2010 Honda CR-Z European model range.

Honda Jazz Hybrid has been announced by Honda to be premiered in September 2010 at the Paris Motor Show. It seems that hybrid cars are gaining popularity which we believe is quite encouraging news. The hybrid system used by the new Jazz Hybrid will be the same with those found on Honda’s Insight and CR-Z hybrid models. Having a background of almost twenty years of development and ten years of sales which lead to half a million cars using this hybrid system, the reliability of this technology is ensured.

A new hybrid car is born, and this time it comes from Peugeot. Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 is the world’s first diesel hybrid crossover. As you have probably guessed this new hybrid is based on the Peugeot’s 3008 crossover. Does this mean that the car has all wheel drive? Yes it does. Further more, the Peugeot 3008 HYbrid4 has a 2 litre HDi FAP engine with a maximum output of 163 HP and an electric motor which develops a maximum of 37 HP which means that the combined power of the two power units reaches 200 HP. Not bad at all. This hybrid from Peugeot promises a fuel consumption reduction of 35 percent reaching just 3.8 litres for 100 km and reduced CO2 emissions of just 99 grams/km. Sales for this model will start in Europe in the first quarter of 2011 and the car will be made in France.

Production of the Peugeot 408 at the PSA Peugeot Citroen Palomar factory in the Buenos Aires area has begun. After being released for the first time in China in April, the Peugeot 408 now aims the high end sedan market segment in South America. The 408 benefits from the valuable input of various Peugeot research and development centers from France, China, Brazil, and Argentina.

Chrysler has released today the first photos of the new 2011 Jeep Wrangler. Production of the new Jeep Wrangler already started this week, and from the first information and photos it looks like the new 2011 Wrangler will have a newly designed interior, new colors, a new removable hardtop in body color. These first photos include the Sahara, Sahara unlimited and Rubicon versions of the new 2011 Jeep Wrangler.

SLS AMG GT3 is the racing version of the Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG super sport car. The new SLS AMG GT3 is the result of a cooperation between AMG and HWA, a sports and touring car partner for Mercedes-Benz. The HWA portfolio includes nine driver championship title in DTM and ITC races and two championship titles in the FIA GT racing series. The AMG-Mercedes cars has the most DTM race victories and DTM titles among the participating brands. The new SLS AMG GT3 can take part at all races complying with FIA GT3 regulations.

Honda Civic Type R will no longer be available for sale starting the end of 2010. The production version of the Civic Type R was released for the first time in 2006 at the Paris Motor Show.The end of the sales of the Honda Civic Type R applies for most European countries  with the introduction of the Euro 5 emissions standard and the reasons for this, of course, is the fact that the Civic Type R is not yet Euro 5 compliant.
